Join us for this live virtual presentation and Q&A session to hear about the benefits, eligibility criteria, and selection process of the Foreign Affairs Information Technology (FAIT) Fellowship. Students interested in applying, college and university faculty, advisors and fellowship directors are all welcome to attend this webinar.
The two-year fellowship, managed by the U.S. Department of State, provides academic funding ($43,500 annually for two years) for undergraduate and graduate degrees in critical fields like cybersecurity, computer engineering, network systems, and information technology. Plus, the program includes two paid summer internships, professional development and mentoring. After successfully completing the program and the State Department’s entry requirements, FAIT Fellows receive an appointment as a Diplomatic Technology Officer (DTO) in the Foreign Service.
You’ll discover:
- The benefits of the fellowship program, beyond academic funding, such as mentorship and professional development
- What fellows do during the summer internships (the first summer internship is in 2027!)
- The graduation timeline for students to be eligible for the 2027 cohort of the FAIT Fellowship
- What degree programs are eligible for this fellowship
- What transcripts and financial documents are required to be submitted with the application.
- When the clearance processes and suitability review are conducted
- The difference between a suitability determination and a security clearance
- How the selection process works
- The timeline of the 2027 cohort, from orientation to appointment into the Foreign Service
- And much more!
