The Foreign Affairs Information Technology Fellowship, funded by the U.S. Department of State, is a path to an exciting career as a Foreign Service Information Management Specialist (IMS).
This two-year Fellowship provides academic funding (up to $75,000), internships, professional development, and mentorship, for your undergraduate junior and senior years or your two-year master’s degree, in an IT-related degree program. After completing the Fellowship and meeting State Department requirements, Fellows receive an appointment (full-time position) in the Foreign Service as an IMS.
The application cycle for the FAIT Fellowship begins each year in the fall and closes in February.
Applications for the 2022 cohort will open in fall 2021 and close in February 2022.
To apply for the 2022 cohort, you must be entering a two-year master’s degree program in fall 2022 or starting your junior year of a bachelor’s degree program in fall 2022. The deadline to apply for the 2022 cohort will be announced when the application window opens.
