2017 FAIT Fellows

Rachel Chao
Rachel, originally from Long Beach, Calif., completed the FAIT Fellowship program in 2019 after earning her Master of Science in Information Systems Technology at George Washington University. As a Foreign Service Information Management Specialist, Rachel’s first post is the U.S. Embassy Jakarta in Indonesia.

Brady DeMerritt
Brady grew up in Parsons, Kansas, and completed the FAIT Fellowship program after earning two bachelor degrees in a double major, Linguistics and Computer Science, from Pomona College. His first post as a Foreign Service Information Management Specialist is the U.S. Consulate, Chennai in India.

Shaki Kar
Raised in Brooklyn and Queens, New York City, Shaki completed the FAIT Fellowship program and earned his master’s degree in information systems with a concentration in cybersecurity at Pace University’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems. His first post as a Foreign Service Information Management Specialist/Information Systems Security Officer is at the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden.

Akvile Kiskis
Born in Lithuania and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Akvile completed the FAIT Fellowship program after earning her bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Management and master’s in Cyber Security and Forensics from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Her first post as a Foreign Service Information Management Specialist is the U.S. Embassy Beirut in Lebanon.

Michael Moise
Michael, raised near Atlanta, Georgia, completed the FAIT Fellowship program after earning a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology at Syracuse University. His first post as a Foreign Service Information Management Specialist is the U.S. Embassy Nicosia in Cyprus.
